Birthdate:1980-02-12
Location:Jerusalem, Israel
Bio
information

Name: Malik Zaidi
Nickname: N/A
Age: 19
Date of Birth: February 12, 1980
Zodiac: Aquarius
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Religion: Islam
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: Neutral.
Abilities: Malik has abilities that can only work in conjunction with his brother’s. Think of the Wonder Twins, minus the activation of the power and the changing into animals, but with the conscious effort put into it. If Fadil doesn’t want him to do anything with his abilities, he stop him, and vice versa. The extent of his abilities is control over the four elements—earth, wind, fire, and water—but he has the greatest control over water because of his brother’s literal ability to change into the form, whereas the other elements are a lot more difficult to control.

personality

Apathetic and not having the greatest self-esteem in the world, Malik blames the world’s problems on himself, and if he’s not up to it for the day, he’ll put it off on his brother. Easy to become defensive and often overly stubborn, he’ll jump to a conclusion first and ask questions later, and by time it’s time to ask questions, he’s already formed an opinion of what he wants to come out of the discussion so he definitely doesn’t put all of his heart into it. He’s often quick to believe that people hate him and his brother, and living in Jerusalem, the chances are that the people who hate him probably do hate him. He acts like a martyr to any great cause, even if he doesn’t spend a lot of time trying to be motivated about anything.

While he certainly has the talent to be something more, Malik prefers lounging around his apartment and eating and generally watching television and movies. He goes outside every morning to buy himself coffee, but he doesn’t do much else. In his interactions with people, he’s quick to come up with excuses to avoid a conversation. Even lame ones. Like the fact that his stove is on fire or it sounds like someone is coming in the room to punch him in the face. Even if no one is coming. When he does continue a conversation with someone, he takes on a very strong “woe is me, my life is horrible” attitude and beliefs he’s justified to have it. He’s not arrogant about it, per se, but he does become easily angered if someone doesn’t understand why his specific life is so horrible.

With his brother—he resents him, but doesn’t bother to show it. His brother is better at interacting with people and he knows it, and he often thinks that people will hate him before they’ll hate his brother, if only because Fadil will actually bother to smile from time to time. He’ll often talk to his brother randomly about random things, and this will translate onto the community—though it will be more to other people. When people tell him that his posts make no sense or he’s updating about bullshit, he’ll only use it as an excuse to play the victim.

Also: He likes cooking. A lot. He doesn’t hold to his religious beliefs when it comes to cooking because it’s the only area where he’s damn good at something without trying. He doesn’t quite know why.

appearance

Average height, black hair, brown eyes, and overly plain, Malik is the less cheerful brother of the two by a mile and it shows by his constantly worried or unhappy or constantly uneasy facial expressions. He wears T-shirts and jeans a lot and doesn’t comb his hair most of the time. The only reason why he shaves is because he actually doesn’t want to look different from his brother.

history

Dima and Hasim were far from an atypical Muslim couple in Jerusalem during the eighties. They kept to themselves, and though living there was always a little difficult, they never seemed to be hit by any great tragedy. Early in the eighties, they gave birth to two twin boys that they named Malik and Fadil. Things to be seemingly normal until the boys were ten years old and the aforementioned lack of tragedy changed. While taking Fadil to an appointment, they were caught in crossfire, and because of his youthful age, Fadil was allowed out alive. Malik, who had been with a family friend at the time, heard the news and instantly resented it. His thoughts were mixed—if he was going to lose his family, why couldn’t he lose all of it? Why did Fadil have to be the one who lived? Why did he deserve to keep any of the members of his family? Already lacking confidence at his young age, he didn’t know how to carry himself through the tragedy.

After that, they lived with an aunt and uncle on their maternal side for seven years before they decided to strike out on their own. They moved into an apartment, and after a while, Fadil started college and Malik didn’t. Since their aunt and uncle were wealthy enough to support them, Malik never bothered to do the things that would help him along in life. Getting a job? Trying to work like a normal human being? Things like that never occurred to him, and instead, he clung to living in the apartment and eating all day long. It’s a marvel that he hasn’t gained weight as a result of his heavy eating and lazy behaviors.

Upon learning about the end of the world, he quickly deleted both of the E-mails and put on a “this is not something we want to bother with” face. Three months later, they received the E-mails again, and this time, out of a fit for boredom—and Fadil hadn’t brought home the groceries for dinner yet—he decided to open it. He deleted it soon after, but he forgot to delete his brother’s. Guess he couldn’t keep out of it after all. It just figured that the world would shit on him in a new way.
